Starting the year with a bang, over the last year or so, the team here at AGC BTR have seen a fundamental shift in the emerging wellbeing trends for tenants, but more importantly, the sustainable aspects of a development. As part of the British design collective AGC, we reveal the group's latest efforts in becoming more responsible for the planet and people.
A FORCE FOR GOOD
As a future-focused collective, we realise how much difference we could be making on eco and social levels. So instead of sustaining and maintaining our performance, AGC prioritises plans to regenerate and commence a never-ending journey towards 'sustainability' and do our bit to make the planet a better place for every being.
Through initiatives with our teams, customers, our supply chain, the wider community, and by being transparent and accountable, we plan to do more than just heal the environment.
To demonstrate our commitment, we are actively working towards our B Corp certification, an Impact Assessment on a global scale, recognising businesses that balance profit and purpose. In addition, we have created a focused team internally to ensure that the improvements we wish to make as a business are fully embedded in our culture.
A SUSTAINABLE RENTAL REVOLUTION
AGC's build-to-rent furnishing solution is revolutionising the future of BTR by providing the services and talent from its entire portfolio of award-winning brands. Not only that, but the team are one of the first build-to-rent interior designers to keep sustainability at the forefront of all our projects.
Our team are working on a more sustainable approach to our BTR schemes, keen to show investors, developers and financial institutions how design can be sustainable; a solution to strengthening their ESG credentials at such a critical time.
Sustainability measures have already seen us achieve our ISO14001 Environmental accreditation, and we are committed to obtaining our B Corp certification. In addition, we are proud to partner with Walpole and its members to work towards a shared ambition of creating a more sustainable industry for the top British Luxury Brands.
A GREEN DESIGN
With biophilic design a trend here to stay and breathing life into any space by maximising residents' daily interactions with nature. All new developments have the perfect opportunity to become green, enhancing health and wellbeing with an added sustainable edge. Our designers are keen to explore vertical farming, rooftops and courtyards fitted out with communal gardens and allotments with the idea of also providing residents with an opportunity to interact with nature and interact socially.
