IN OUR NEW BLOG SERIES, WE UNCOVER ANECDOTES AND FAVOURITE PASTIMES FROM THE BUILD-TO-RENT INDUSTRY AND THE TEAM HERE AT AGC. KICKING OFF THE SERIES IS OUR INTERIOR DESIGNER, SOPHIE WILSON.
After acquiring a degree in Interior Architecture & Design, Sophie joined Accouter Group of Companies, initially working closely for the BoxNine7 division. With her sophisticated style, business-like mind, and an abundance of technical skills, Sophie has designed and managed some of the largest high-value projects we have facilitated across London with the AGC BTR team.
Launched in late 2020, we revealed our new AGC BTR brand in which Sophie works almost exclusively on. Our AGC BTR division is revolutionising the future of BTR by providing the services and talent from our entire portfolio of award-winning brands
What building inspires you?
The Pompidou Centre in Paris, the architecture and design both inside and out is so impressive. It also has great views of the city.
An artist you most admire?
Carlo Scarpa. He was an Italian architect, influenced by the materials, landscape and the history of Venetian culture and by Japan. I admire how he translated his interests in history, regionalism, invention, combined with his craftsmanship into ingenious glass and furniture design.
Favourite furniture design piece?
The Angelpoise lamp, which I have also used recently in a couple projects, including our latest BTR project.
Best advice you’ve ever been given?
The best advice I have ever been given was from my Economics teacher in school. “The glass is always half full”.
Most recent sustainable brand discovery?
I recently discovered Nove Lighting. They craft various pendants and lamps from cork oak trees and are fully sustainable. I hope to use them in a project in the near future!
